About Me

Hello and welcome! My name is Rachel and I have been a professional Beauty Therapist in the British Hotel Spa industry for over a decade.

In short, the term ‘Beauty therapy’ in the UK, covers a wide range of treatments that are practiced on clients including facial treatments, make up application, waxing, manicures, pedicures, body massage, aromatherapy and spa therapy.

Upon qualifying, I decided to continue to learn new techniques and procedures, with a focus toward natural plant based skincare and holistic therapies, including traditional Indian head massage and hot stone therapy.

I also was lucky enough to train under several professional brands including ESPA (still one of my faves!), Clarins, Jessica Nailcare, Karin Hertzog and Kerstin Florian to name a few.

Upon moving to the United States, several years later however, I got so frustrated in navigating the beauty licensing system here. I felt limited in making use of my experience and couldn't find a beauty niche to fit into. I felt lost. So after much thought, I decided to bring my knowledge to the internet instead.

So here I am! On this blog, I review and demo new beauty products, skin care and make up but I'd also like to talk to you about professional treatments, product ingredients, my experience in the industry, how to get a job... In fact, everything you might be afraid to ask your Massage Therapist or Esthetician.

On the side, I’m also an avid DIYer so I’d love to invite you to join me as I have some fun playing cosmetic scientist and formulating some skin care and make up products.

In addition, I'd love to share some funny past stories with you and react to some of the many, really bad beauty myths out there (thanks Pinterest).

Have a topic suggestion or a question you’d like to ask? Send me a message here. You can also follow me on social media, below.

I look forward to hearing from you!
